I seem to be having some odd troubles with Amarok. When I start a song, everything is peachy; however, when I start more then one track of music, after each track past the first one, it seems to garble the first 3-5 seconds or so. I'm not sure exactly if it's mashing it together, or just skipping over it, but it makes for annoying listening of music.
I have found that if I stop a track and then restart it, it plays smoothly, just as if I hit the skip track forward or back commands. Is there any specific cause for this, and more specifically, any way to fix it? I have spent the afternoon scouring the web for answers, and though I have found other people with the same problems, most of them are from a couple years back and they never really found solutions that I could find. Any help/suggestions? |

Some more information about your exact Amarok and KDE version as well as Linux distribution would't hurt, as well as the Phonon backend you are currently using (See Systemsettings -> Multimedia -> Backend tab).
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

*Ahem* my apologies. I forgot the obvious... I am using Xine in my backend. I am currently running Kubuntu Lucid Lynx 10.04. As for Amarok version: 2.3.0, and KDE 4.4.2. I think that is closer to the sufficient amount of information.

Do you have the ReplayGain option enabled? Menu Settings -> ReplayGain Mode. Please disable it and try again.

I tried turning that off, it doesn't seem to have any effect.

Then I don't know, sorry. This behavior is quite bizarre.

I have a very similar problem, with the same setup (kubuntu 10.04, xine backend for phonon, etc. etc.)
The behavior is that Amarok will consistently skip the first seconds of a song when switching between songs. A few specific notes: 1. I have chased it down to files in the OGG format. If I convert ogg files to mp3s (via `oggdec -o - file.ogg | lame -b 128 -m s - file.mp3`) then I do not get the behavior at all. 2. The beginning seconds are skipped when I double-click to play an individual song (i.e., it isn't just happening when changing songs) 3. Having one song or multiple songs queued doesn't seem to make a difference. I always get the first second or so skipped when playing oggs. 4. Crossfade, OSD, and just about anything that might take up system resources have been disabled. |

More debugging notes:
* When I play the same ogg file in mplayer, I get the exact same initial skipping. * When I play the ogg file in xine, I do not get the initial skip. |
