i have gotten amarok Version 2.3.1 (KDE 4.4.3)
Machine is
Whenever i add anything to the collection, amarok crashes. I tried to add the whole collection at first (400gb) -> crash after 5 min. I then restarted amarok and added just the artist "A" -> 5 crashes before it finally made it. Then when amarok finally got this music into the db i added artists wit "B", which made amarok crash and loose everything it had allready indexed. So starting from scratch i added artists with "A" again. After 6-8 crashes amarok made this. I exited the program and restarted it, which showed that this "A" was still in the db. Great. Now i added artists with "B" and after 6-8 crashes this was finally accomplished. Exit program and restart to hinder everything to be lost again. And so on and so forth. Im currently at "C" where something hinders amarok in completing the indexing at all. This cant be then intended behaviour, but what to do?

There is no Amarok 4.4.3 version, that's the KDE version you are talking about.
To get the Amarok version, please check Help -> About Amarok to get the correct version.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

That's what I meant, Mamarok. monk
If men could get pregnant, abortion would be a sacrament.

I had a problem with this (adding a large amount of music to the collection), and discovered its a bug with importing playlists. It was supposed to have been fixed in 2.3.1.
There is a crude but effective fix for this, and its to delete all your .m3u files from your collection, or move them to another location for the time being. I've noticed Amarok crashes a couple of times after this, but at least you can import your music and start listening to some of it. |
