No Sound on Amarok

Fri Jun 25, 2010 10:12 am
i'm not an expert i'm using kubuntu for the first time.
when i play any mp3 on amarok i heard nothing if i use a phonon configuration set to "HDA Nvidia...(s/pdif) digital audio output ", but all the other sounds work, youtube included.
So i try to change the phonon configuration and change the priorities from "HDA Nvidia...(s/pdif) digital audio output" to "HDA nvidia ... Analog", and amarok start working but there's no sound on youtube anymore.
Is there a way to make them work at the same time or what?

Amarok doesn't like gstreamer as a backend for phonon - I too had issues with it. You may want to try xine (as phonon backend) instead.

Re: No Sound on Amarok  Topic is solved

This is a permanent problem with Flash, not an Amarok problem, since Amarok uses Phonon, Firefox or whatever browser you use doesn't. Restarting the browser window usually solves the sound issue for Youtube. Else you should check you have the correct flashplayer installed, in Kubuntu 10.04 the package is called flashplugin-installer.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
