Can someone provide me with detailed instructions on how to install amarok 1.94 on FC12?
I have searched extensively and cannot find anything. I can only find instructions for FC10. I really do not understand why the newest version does not have the same features as this version. 1.94 is fantastic. I feel a real disservice has been done to the community with the releases >2.0 I would like to stay on the current release of Fedora, but I feel I may have to blow everything away and revert back to FC10, just to have a working, fully functional version of Amarok. The new interface is terrible; very difficult to navigate; not intuitive; and whole host of other reasons why I feel the community should not have moved away from a winning solution. Any and all help would be gratefully appreciated. I have tried to rebuild from source ( FC10 ), but I am not a developer and find it very difficult to debug rpmbuild errors for plasma libraries. Kind regards |

since the 1.9.x releases were beta's of the 2.x series (iirc) I'm thinking that's not what you want to do.
if you mean the 1.4 series you should see if there's a 1.4 rpm for fc12, the last version I think was 1.4.10. |

Ah that will be a layer 8 problem from me!!
It's FC12 and amarok 1.4 I've been working on all versions I can find and I just got the numbers confused. I will see if I can find anything for FC12 Amarok 1.4 and will post again. Thank you for the reply. |

Sorry, but Amarok 1.4.x is not supported anymore from our side since quite some time, you should ask your distribution if they still provide it.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
