Hi all,
I've searched for an answer to this question but sadly wasn't able to find anything. As a newbie on this forum I ask for understanding for possibly really stupid questions ![]() I just upgraded from OpenSUSE 11.2 to 11.3. It comes with KDE 4.4.4, Amarok 2.3.0. Being a long time fan of Amarok, I opened it up to realize that Shoutcast was gone. No problem, I searched for an appropriate script for it and was able to find one with the script manager. While I was at it I installed two other scripts as well. It said everything was installed and I should restart Amarok to be able to use them. Since then, I've restarted Amarok (yes, actually restarted it, not just closed the window) and the scripts weren't running. If I open up the script manager, I see the new scripts but I can't do anything with the script manager - not even scroll through or anything. It just freezes. Since I'm also working with a script that loads Icecast, I'd have to have to deinstall Amarok. Anybody have any tips? Best, Daniel |

Sorry for the long wait for a response, I guess I didn't subscribe properly to the topic so I didn't see that somebody'd replied.
I do have the newest version now, but I've still got the same problem. Perhaps one of the scripts is causing the freeze; is there a way to uninstall them without using Amarok's script manager? In the meantime I've also uninstalled and reinstalled Amarok completely, but my scripts still seem to be installed… Thanks! |

try renaming ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/scripts
iirc they'll still show up in Amarok's tool manager (though the scripts won't be found and run), you can just uninstall them for the listing to do away |

Worked like a charm! Thanks so much
![]() I renamed the folder and started Amarok. Only the default scripts were displayed as being installed. I found the scripts I wanted - in the find script view they were checked as installed, so I uninstalled them and then reinstalled them. What maybe (farfetched) had something to do with the problem: I installed four scripts at the same time last time. This time I did one at a time, every time shutting down Amarok and turning it back on to see if that script had been the problem. None of the scripts caused problems by themselves, but perhaps it made problems to have them all loaded for the first time all at once. The very grateful, Daniel |

I have seven scripts installed, so four isn't a magic number. I suspect that that fourth script is corrupt, or not a 2.x script. We don't provide support for scripts; you'll need to contact the script author/maintainer for that. You should be able to find the page on kde-apps, where there is a support forum for each listed app or script.
