I'm on Gentoo with KDE 4.4.5, running Amarok 2.3.1-r2, with the ipod flag enabled. I'd like to be able to use my iPod with Amarok, but there doesn't seem to be any mention of removable devices anywhere in Amarok. No device tab, no mention of devices anywhere in Amarok settings.. what am I missing?
Thanks! |

There is no settings option for media devices. If you have the necessary dependencies installed, e.g. libgpod, it should just show up in the Local Music section.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

I got the impression it was possible to sync the iPod using Amarok. It now shows up under "Local music", and I'm now able to delete things, but can I add things on? |

Did you try? In the Collection Browser, select what you want to add, right click on it and add it to the iPod should work. It doesn't yet work from the playlist, this is work in progress though.

Yup it works! It was actually a combination of my own inability to use Amarok and some problems with KDE. Thanks |

Does amarok support transcoding files on the fly? I have my library in flac.

Transcoding in Amarok is not yet released. Next version, we very much hope. |
