Crash when plugging in an iPod

Thu Aug 26, 2010 5:07 pm
I ran into another problem. Amarok crashes when I plug in my cousin's 120gb iPod classic. It does this for gtkpod as well. My iPod video got stolen so I can't test to see if that'd work. It crashes instantly too, and wouldn't restart until after I unplugged the iPod.

also, why does kwallet say error opening kwallet (error code: -2: Error opening file)??

McTwist, please run amarok from the console again,
Code: Select all
amarok -d --nofork
and see if you get any decent output when the crash happens. If not, can you run in gdb, and get the output that way?

http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Debugging_HowTo#GDB for more information.

For me what works: $ gdb amarok
(gdb) run --nofork

You may have to file a bug for this, since the forum isn't really meant for debugging output.

I split this off the other thread, as those are totally unrelated. Please do not hijack threads.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
