Hi,
I am usinng Amarok 2.3.1 on OpenSuse 11.2. I have a problem with Audiofiles
wich have tags in chinese. In the playlist just some senseless latin charackters are shown.
I used Amarok 2.1 before, and don't have had this problem. All chinese Tags
was shown clearly in the playlist.
I have this problem, since my update from Amarok 2.1 to Amarok 2.3.1.
Also I tried to delete the amarokrc and amarok_homerc, with no effect.
It is really disturbing me, because I have many files, wich have Tags in chinese. The problem also exsist with tags in Cyrillic.

Crillic and greek characters display correctly here, and from what I can see on an Ampache Music server, Amarok also displays Chinese and Japanese correctly , both on the remote server and when I download a file.
It is important to use the UTF encoding system instead of the pretty much obsolete ISO encoding.
Did you try the option to guess the encoding of the id3 tags in the Collection settings?

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

thanks, now it works. For some reason the option "Enable character set detection in ID3 Tags" was disabled. After enable it and restart amarok, it
is working. ;)
Thank you :)
