Hello,
I seem to have some problems with scrobbling in 2.3.1 and openSUSE 11.3 with KDE 4.5 from Factory. Inside Amarok, everything seems to be working, except that tracks played in Amarok haven't showed up on the website for at least 5 days (which I only noticed today). Liking a song works and shows up on the last.fm website though.
The service is, of course, up and running and reports a successful test login.

Starting via Konsole, I get a lot of these messages:
Code: Select all
amarok(6587)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::TransferJob::slotMimetype: mimetype() emitted again, or after sending first data!; job URL = KUrl("http://userserve-ak.last.fm/serve/126/50754501.jpg")

Code: Select all
amarok(6587)/kio (KIOJob) KIO::TransferJob::slotMimetype: mimetype() emitted again, or after sending first data!; job URL = KUrl("http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/4/41/Qsicon_Exzellent.svg/24px-Qsicon_Exzellent.svg.png")

Which I am only mentioning because one contains the last.fm url.

Sorry if I forgot to add any useful information. Also sorry if this is a noob problem and I didn't see an obvious solution.

Thank you for your help! :-)

Does Kwallet start up when you start up Amarok? Have you configured in your last.fm account name and password?

The listed mentions don't look like scrobbling; they look like attempts to get covers and other info. I think starting up, it looks more like this:

http://post.audioscrobbler.com:80/np_1.2
http://post2.audioscrobbler.com:80/protocol_1.2"
amarok: BEGIN: void LastFmService::onGetUserInfo()
amarok: [LastFmService] profile info "US" "57" "f" "41750" true

Of course, I could be wrong. What is your last.fm account name?

Thank you for your reply! :-)

Yes, my account is configured. It test-logins successfully and I can like songs and it shows up on the website and all. Just played tracks don't show up on the website anymore (this used to work for the longest time).

Kwallet doesn't start up when I start Amarok. I think it did it some point, but I must have configured Amarok to not need it a while ago.

My last.fm account name is alvanx, just like my nick in this forum. The last several tracks that show up as scrobbled weren't played in Amarok though.

OK. If you have disallowed Kwallet, do you enter your password each time you start up? If not, this is why your tracks aren't being scrobbled. I suggest calling up Kwallet configuration from your start menu, and re-allow Amarok to use the service.

Otherwise, wait for the next version out, where scrobbling and streaming without the use of Wallet have been improved.

I don't think this is correct. As I said, I don't have problems with logging in. Amarok keeps my log-in data, and it transmits liked songs to the website when I click the like-button.

I noticed two things today though.

1. Scrobbling has been working yesterday and earlier this morning. I am currently attempting to reproduce whatever it took to do this. It could be that while Amarok had the log-in data, it didn't auto-log-in to the last.fm website while scrobbling (which is passive), whilst liking a song (which I do actively) would log me in.

2. I have been having some problems with my session crashing (possibly kwin, flash or graphics-related, but that's a different topic). When Amarok crashed with the session and I restarted it after the crash, for a couple of weeks there has been another crash. However, I only now noticed that pattern in when this crash occurs.
It happened this morning again. Here is the debug-log (or whatever it is called). It might be related to this problem: http://nopaste.info/f45c1540ba.html

Update:
Ok, it seems that after said crash happens, scrobbling stops working until I go to the amarok settings and login to my last.fm account. Looks like a bug to me.
I also tested what liking a song would do. Liking a song in Amarok shows up on the website, but it doesn't make scrobbling work. The only way to enable scrobbling after a system crash (that took down Amarok as well) is manually through the Amarok settings.

UPDATE 2:
I was to rash. Scrobbling doesn't work. In fact, after going to the window of the last.fm service and logging in, the like-button disappeared from Amarok, and it still didn't scrobble. A program restart brings the button back. Unfortunately, I haven't figured out what I have to do to make it work again. Maybe a proper reboot and program restart? I'll have to see.

EDIT 3:
Took out error log and added link to nopaste.info. Sorry, didn't realize it would be so huge.

Please file a bug and attach the output to the bug report as an attachement, so it doesn't get lost, external pastebins have a time out.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...
