okay well while on another forum i found a semi solution to this problem.

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sour ... bug/600302

the only thing is i know have the missing icons extracted on my desktop that were missing. I can't for the life of me figure out how to put these files in the folder they belong because its saying i dont have the right permissions, any helpful insight would be great. thank you!

permissions - you as a user are trying to copy/move files into a system directory owned by root, correct?

from konsole try "su -c "mv files-to-move files-destination" it will ask for root password
if you wish to do it from within dolphin try from konsole or krunner"kdesu dolphin" it will ask for root password

of course don't use the quotes and use actual file and directory names
