I have Ubuntu 10.04 and would like to make the switch to 10.10. I would like to know if all I need to back up is the home/.kde/share/apps/amarok folder? Aside from that is there anything else I need to grab?

No, that's the most important folder indeed. Unless you want to keep the configuration files, which are located in $HOME/.kde/share/config/. Those all start with amarok*

Of course this is as far as Amarok is concerned. If you want to keep other KDE related stuff, you should backup the whole $HOME/.kde/ folder as well, then copy back selectively what you need. I usually keep my $HOME on a separate partition, so I only move the $HOME/.kde/ folder once the installation is done and copy back what I really need, e.g. the kmail settings and mail archives for example. I usually don't keep the files in $HOME/.kde/share/config/

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Thank you very much. That was exactly the answer I was looking for.
