Try running the amarokcollectionscanner in -r mode, to identify an eventual faulty file.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hello
Here's an example of what i've got (total count is 12 ) . It seems like some files are disturbing the process, but what can i do now with them ? amarokcollectionscanner /stockage1/musique/ <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?><scanner><folder path="/stockage1/musique/"/> <itemcount count="1"/> <tags title="Shotgun" compilation="checkforvarious" bitrate="128" uniqueid="amarok-sqltrackuid://8bcc8e1850269f8575180fcf28a993aa" filetype="1" track="5" artist="Jr. Walker And The All Stars" path="/stockage1/musique/05.Jr. Walker & The All Stars - Shotgun.mp3" filesize="2891528" length="181000" samplerate="44100" album="Soul ! - The Very Best Of Motown CD1" comment="" genre="Other" year="0" audioproperties="true"/>

Try retagging it with easytag or kid3, maybe that helps. MusicBrainz tagger Picard adds some strange tags that are not respecting the standard, that could also be a problem.

Looks like you forgot the -r option that time.

I can't really follow what the symptoms are, but chances are your problem will be fixed with this patch to 2.3.2:
http://gitweb.kde.org/amarok.git/commit ... 9e37892638 plus this follow-up patch: http://gitweb.kde.org/amarok.git/blobdi ... canner.cpp If it works for you, please ask your package maintainer to push out a package with those patches. Thanks, Jeff |

Sorry, i forgot the -r you're right,
strangely now i have so many files that i'd need 2 lifes to be able to retag them ... I guess adding files directly in amarok is not a bad solution I therefore tried to add bad tagged files in a file and now there's an error somewhere : if i try ~> amarokcollectionscanner -r /stockage1/musique/ >musique1 i have this TagLib: ID3v2.4 no longer supports the frame type TDAT. It will be discarded from the tag. TagLib: ID3v2.4 no longer supports the frame type TDAT. It will be discarded from the tag. TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate. TagLib: MPEG::Header::parse() -- Invalid sample rate. I understand you gave patches but i don't know how to add them to amarok.

Hi,
Those warnings you got should be harmless. If you don't know how to apply patches, see if there is a nightly snapshot of Amarok for your distribution. Unfortunately, I can't really help you more than that at the moment. Your problem is likely solved in code, so you either need to acquire a snapshot of Amarok from git or you need to convince your distro's Amarok package maintainer to issue a new package version of 2.3.2 with both of those patches. |
