Hello forum,
I wanted Amarok to stream whatever it plays, like a webradio that I can control with Amarok's GUI. So, I tried the Amarok Shouter Script (http://kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=22170). I downloaded the *.amarokscript.tar.bz2-File, and using the Script Manager I installed the Script. Seemingly, all went well and I was prompted to restart Amarok. That's what I did, but after the restart there was no sign of the plugin - not even in the Script Manager. I tried re-installing the Script, but when I click "Install Script" and select the *.tar.bz2-File, I get the error "A script with the name 'shouter' is already installed. Please uninstall it first." - although it isn't even in the 'Installed Amarok Scripts' List. I can find the script in the file system, too...it just won't show in Amarok. I tried starting Amarok in a console window (with and without -debug switch), but skimming through the output, I didn't see anything shouter-related. I use Amarok 2.3.2-2 on Arch Linux (Kernel is 2.6.35 - since Arch is a bleeding edge thingy, let me know if you need any other version numbers). I know it's probably the script's fault, but how can I find out what the script is doing wrong? Do you know any other reliable streaming solutions for Amarok? I have a Shoutcast client that is supposed to read the stream over the Internet - it's a hardware client so unfortunately, I have no flexibility on the client side. Thank you for your support, onkel_keks |

You can't use scripts for Amarok 1.x in Amarok 2.x, make sure you only download scripts through the Script Manager.
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |
