running a fresh install of mac os x snow leopard 10.6 fresh install of mac ports 1.9 this is the error i am getting

Have you tried to port install qt4-mac as recommended in the error message?

just did a fresh install of snow leopard have not installed anything yet. after installing mac ports should i install qt4-mac before installing amarok or after?

Amarok depends upon Phonon, which is part of Qt4, so you do need to install qt4-mac beforehand.
