I am running the following...
Amarok 2.3.2 KDE 4.5.1 Kubuntu 10.10 I have all of my music files stored on a Buffalo Linkstation (smb://ls-gl4a7/Share/Music). My problem is that I can't work out how to get Amarok to scan these files. I can navigate to individual tracks on the drive and play them but would like to be able to see the whole collection, create playlists etc. Any help much appreciated. |

How have you mounted the NAS? If it is mounted into the file system, open Amarok > Settings > Configure Amarok > Collection, and tick the folder where your NAS is mounted into there.
KDE Sysadmin

I guess it's not mounted as I can't see the NAS when I do as above. I will go and try to find out how to mount it. Thanks. |

This should help you get started. I have a DLink DNS 323 that I mounted in fstab and Amarok will recognize the collection. Using: (all on one line of course) //dlink-nas/Volume_1/Music /mnt/dlink cifs uid=username,gid=groupuser,guest,file_mode=0444,dir_mode=0555 0 0 On boot I always see this error: mount error(101): Network is unreachable Refer to the mount.cifs(8) manual page (e.g. man mount.cifs) mountall: mount /mnt/dlink [423] terminated with status 32 I will continue researching the proper way to mount and keep checking this thread. |
