Hearing streaming radio on Amarok

I am trying to hear a stream on Amarok. the window displays the song playing...but I hear nothing. any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm using Ubuntu 10.10.

Hi Mylan, which Amarok version are you using, with which backend? Phonon-gstreamer doesn't play streams the last time I tested it. If you don't know the backend, go to Settings > Configure Amarok > Playback > Configure Phonon: Backend. Xine and VLC should both work for you, if you have the proper codecs installed.

If you are using Xine or VLC, and still hear nothing, try installing the package Kubuntu-restricted-extras for all the codecs you will need.

By the way, Amarok 2.3.2 is the current version, with beta 1 of 2.4 out today.
