I am using Amarok 2.3.0 on Mint 9 with Gnome. It works very well but for some reason Amarok shows unselected media folders in my "local collection" section.

In my home folder I have a Music and a Music Download folder, Amarok is only selected to view the Music folder, yet all of the unsorted music in my Music Downloads folder, Documents folder, and Downloads folder show up in the local collection as well as all media behind a hardlink in my homefolder that leads to a separate music collection on an external hard drive.. They are not selected under "configure collection".

Any suggestions to remedy this would be greatly appreciated.

upgrade to a newer version of Amarok - 2.3.0 is a bit old

might be this bug "Directories that were once part of the collection but not anymore may not have been properly removed, leading to files outside the collection being scanned. (BR 243532)"
