Hello,
I'm using Amarok 2.4 (ppa-backport package), on a Kubuntu 10.10, with plasmoid "now playing".
When using Amarok, an unknown task appears sometimes in Notification-manager, slows down plasma and keeps coming until I stop Amarok (causing sometimes a plasma crash) :

It happens only when I play music, not when Amarok idles. I didn't have any trouble with the previous version.
Does anyone have an idea of where this problem comes from ?

I've seen that too, but I didn't know what was causing it. It disappeared when I removed veromix, which seems to have been retrieving amarok media information for some reason, so that is consistent with your assessment.

Shouldn't this go to the Plasma section? The Amarok developers are not responsible for that widget and you mention problems with two plasma widgets independent from Amarok (besides retrieving data from it).

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Maybe, but as this problem appears with the new version, maybe Amarok's developers are somehow "responsible" of that.
I've also noticed that, in "Now playing", some covers are not diplayed since 2.4, and it could be in that case that the bug occurs (I'm not 100% sure though, currently checking).
Maybe there is some modifications that have been done and that the plasma developpers should be made aware of ?
