Hi,
I've some issues with v2.4.0 on KDE 4.5.5. Maybe you can tell me if it's a local problem or a bug. Thanks in advance! 1) Current playlist not saved if I restart KDE. IIRC this has been a bug someday but I couldn't find it at BKO or in this forum. I thought it had been fixed some version ago, but for me it never worked since at least v2.3.0. Playlist is saved correctly if *I* quit and restart Amarok, but not if the KDE session closes. 2) Applet Explorer has wrong height. It only shows the upper half of the applets and the label is missing. Changing the applet area width fixes that temporary. Best regards, Andreas |

First issue supposed to be fixed since 2 of January. Can not reproduce It. Play list doesn't get saved only if Amarok was crashed.

This is a known bug, although I just can't find it right now. As a workaround you can save the playlist manually or exit Amarok before logging out of KDE.
Not sure I understand what you mean, could you provide a ascreenshot?

FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Hello!
Yes, I also couldn't find it. But I thought it should have been fixed v2.3.x.

Ubuntu 10.04
Just got upgraded to Amarok 2.4.0, kde 4.4.5 from 2.3.0 kde 4.4.2. I am having trouble with the center panel. When I enable Wikipedia on any albums where I know there is a Wikipedia entry that worked in 2.3.0, I get a rolled up title bar that says Wikipedia, and it cannot be expanded to show the Wikipedia information. I can't find a setting to fix this. Any ideas? I don't want to submit a bug report if I am missing something. |

It sounds as if your Amarok isn't connecting to the internet. Are you getting lyrics for the songs that didn't have them? If you have last.fm, is it scrobbling? Are you getting the similar artists, which comes from Last.fm too?
If everything is working but wikipedia, that's one thing. But if none of your internet services are working, then check your connection and/or firewall. |

It seems to be connecting because I did fetch lyrics on a new album and the photos applet seems to work also, and I believe those come from the internet.
I ran sudo apt-get build-dep amarok and it downloaded a bunch of new libraries (which I would have thought the new version would have already included), but the Wikipedia applet is still not working. In fact the entire center pane is not functioning right when compared to my wife's system. 1. When you click the "current track" button it comes up OK, but 2. When you click another button like Wikipedia or photos, they do not REPLACE the current track window but add rolled up title bars of each into it. 3. When you click on the configure button to add or remove applets, the "applet browser" is 90% hidden below the bottom border. I could do a complete uninstall/ reinstall but I was hoping not to have to. Besides, that might not fix it either because sudo apt-get build-dep amarok should have provided all the dependencies, I think. |

Amarok seems to have pretty much fixed itself. The problem in Wikipedia was that there was no language preference set (it did not stay set from the previous version when the upgrade went in). Once this was set, Wikipedia worked fine, then the entire panel seemed to normalize. The only remaining problem seems to be the applet browser. I can't see it unless I undock and maximize the center panel.
It would appear that there are so many inter-relationships between the applets in this panel, that if one is mis-configured, it affects them all? Sorry for the panic. Amarok is about the best piece of software I have ever used, and it bugs me when it develops a problem. Does anyone know why Ubuntu's Update Manager failed to include all the libraries? I can give you a list of the ones sudo apt-get build-dep amarok found if a developer is interested.I copied the terminal echo to a text file. |

Well, we don't control the packaging; that is done by the distros. If they leave out a dependency, there isn't much we can do but tell them. You might drop a note to kubuntu-devel@lists.ubuntu.com mentioning what has been left out. Mention the troubles you had, and how you fixed it.
Thanks for writing, Valorie |

Thanks for the e-mail reference- I think I will do that.
UPDATE Sent them a detailed description and got this in return: You are not allowed to post to this mailing list, and your message has been automatically rejected. If you think that your messages are being rejected in error, contact the mailing list owner at kubuntu-devel-owner@lists.ubuntu.com. |

Hmmm, I didn't realize that was a closed list. In that case, you can either report your case in the #kubuntu-devel IRC channel, or send it to the Kubuntu Users list, https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/kubuntu-users

I strongly suggest you get a more recent version of Amarok, current is 2.4.3.
