I've upgraded Amarok to 2.4.0 (from 2.3.2) and since the upgrade I've had collection issues.

I use an external mysql database with correct user credentials. Initially after install all my songs were picked up with correct ratings data etc (i.e reading the database) then Amarok auto ran a collection scan and then only found about 70 songs (10,000 + songs in collection). If I do a full rescan it finds all the songs but without any ratings, scores etc.

I have restored the mysql db and the same issue; initially it finds everything fine but after auto rescan only finds about 40 songs. Not sure where to go from here?

MYSQL: mysql Ver 14.14 Distrib 5.1.49
Amarok: 2.4.0
OS: Ubuntu 10.10 2.6.35-27-generic

Hi Gruffbaby, in this thread (viewtopic.php?f=115&t=93762 ), user Mamarok says that Amarok is having trouble with extended fields in id3 tags.

I've had some success in removing extended fields of tracks not showing up in the local collection. After this, if you have a backup of your amarok database from before the missing tracks were added (with their problem fields), then restore that backup in mysql, and let Amarok do its regular scan. Otherwise, I think you might have to do a complete full scan of your collection. But for now, those extended fields seem to be the big problem for Amarok.

Thanks for your response, I saw that post but I don't think trawling through my collection looking for files with this tag info is a go-er for me. I've downgraded back to Amarok 2.3.2 and that is working ok. I'll wait and see if they fix this issue in further releases.

I have the same issues here.

Had a lot of work trying to get some new Nihon songs on my collections and so far some of the albums either don't show up or only show a few of the songs in the album... I thought this was a character problem with CJK, but even some of my Singhalese songs have disappeared...

I've tried full rescans and unchecking folders and rescanning and then checking them again and rescanning... no luck...

Too bad... 2.4.0 had some good things, kudos to the Amarok team for giving us top rate software for so long thiugh...
