Hi
Using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (gnome)

My problem is quite simple I hope. Is just that when I 'hover' with the mouse-pointer over buttons in Amarok, the text that appeare, have a very dark back-ground so I'm not able to see the text. Where can I change the background, that explain what the botton is? I have gnome, but some KDE libs comes with Amarok and info of versin and stuff shows:
Amarok Version 2.3.2
Using KDE 4.5.3 (KDE 4.5.3)

PS. Or change the text to light, just so the text and backgroung not are the same.

/Cheers

Joni, do you have a screenshot of what you are seeing? In Kubuntu, my Amarok tooltips are blue with black lettering, and quite easy to read.

No, I don't understand how I should upload a picture...

But anyway..when I hover over for instance the save-icon, I only get a black field, there the text is not able to read.

Images should be uploaded using a site such as Imageshack, Imagebin, etc. Once uploaded there, you can post the link to them here.

Do you experience this in other Qt/KDE applications such as KWrite/Konqueror/Dolphin?

Did this ever get resolved?

I tend to see this more in non-KDE applications (running in KDE). For example, libreoffice.

KDE doesn't by any chance treat tooltips available in one of the selected preferred languages differently from those available in other languages does it?

I only ask because I'm having general problems with KDE and languages it doesn't know about and libreoffice is likely making tooltips available only in a language KDE doesn't recognise.

In other cases, it seems to just refuse to allow applications to use other languages. But it is possible that libreoffice doesn't have alternative interface languages installed...

I appreciate the fact that KDE cannot support my preferred language but I don't think it is unreasonable to expect it to let me use (non-KDE) applications which do support that language in that language!

Do I need to find some way to add that language to KDE's list?

The tooltip colors are determined by the QStyle in use. When using unity on ubuntu the standard style is QtCurve, which might be the source of this bug.

However, I'm using unity on ubuntu 11.10 and don't have this issue.
Run "kcmshell4 style" (from command line) to make sure you are using QtCurve.

I'm using Oxygen not QtCurve. At least, a dialog pops up telling me that's the widget style that's set. I'm not using unity, either, as I'm not using Ubuntu.
