Correct number of genres and albums but zero tracks

All,

My server has all mp3-s on a seperate filesystem (/mp3). Amarok has created the collection (mysql db) and on the server it shows all mp3-s as expected.
Clients have mounted via nfs server:/mp3 on /mp3 and connected to the database.

Amarok on the client shows the correct numbers of genres and albums but the local collection is 0 tracks.

I encountered this problem after I migrated the server from opensuse 11.2 to 11.4 and all the clients were migrated from opensuse 11.3 to 11.4.

In the old environment (opensuse 11.2/11.3) this setup worked perfectly.

Currently running amarok 2.4.0 on KDE 4.6.0 on opensuse 11.4. Unfortunately I can't remember the version of amarok/kde for the old environment.

Is there a change in amarok? Or am I doing something wrong. Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Arjan

To debug and reproduce this I created 3 vboxes, a 11.3 server, a 11.4 server and a 11.4 client.
All have the latest and greatest versions. Both servers are configured the same only with different hostnames and the mp3 collection is different (but both are on a filesystem called /mp3)

If the 11.4-client mounts the mp3 from the 11.3 server and connects to the amarok db on the 11.3 server amarok behaves as expected.

However if I connect to the 11.4 server (via the 11.4 client) and mount the mp3 (same mount point as for 11.3 server) and connect to the amarok db on the 11.4 server .. i don get the tracks (actully it says 0 tracks, 1 album, 1 genre)
I restarted amarok with the -d option and collected all the debug info into a file (can be found at http://www.famtenhoopen.nl/~arjan/amarok.log).

There are actully 3 lines with errors.

amarok: [UpnpCollectionFactory] ERROR "The name org.kde.Cagibi was not provided by any .service files"

amarok: [ERROR__] Can not parse dynamic.xml
amarok: [ERROR__] "unexpected end of file"
amarok: [ERROR__] "Line: 1, Column 1"

The last 3 error lines have to do with the dynamic.xml file, which is actually an empty file.
The first one is way beyond my "understanding".

Anybody any idea what's going?? Any clue, any tip, any trick??

Or did I hit a bug???

Vbox images can be made available.

Thanks in advance,

Arjan

What runs on the servers in this case? Just NFS and MySQL? Or does some form of remote indexing happen?

Just NFS adn MySQL. It was a clean install from the installation DVD-s (for 11.3 server and 11.4 server as well as the 11.4 client)

My guess is that something in either NFS or MySQL is causing this problem. Does using a local database server with both 11.4 server and clients change the status of the issue?

On the 11.4 server I see all tracks as expected. So there's nothing wrong.
I don't expect any strange behaviour if the 11.4 client also uses it's own db since then it's just the same as the 11.4 server.

The reason I created the vboxes was because in my home environment I migrated from a 11.2 server with 11.4 clients (which ran amarok perfectly) to a 11.4 server with 11.4 clients. Then the trouble started.
First I thought it's my home environment, but it's so easy to reproduce (with a clean install) that it just can't be my home environment.

Since no errors (except from the two I mentioned in my previous post) occure I expect that I'm hitting a bug.

Any other thoughts.

Cheers,
Arjan

I scanned the debug output again and found:

amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Found Solid::DeviceInterface::StorageAccess with udi = "/org/kde/fstab/10.0.0.155:/mp3"
amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Device name is = "10.0.0.155" and was made by "/mp3"
amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Solid device is not accessible, will wait until it is to consider it added.

Although the /mp3 filesystem is existing and accessable.
This happens with amarok 2.4.0 and 2.4.1, I created a bug report 273046 and added a detailed attachment with debug and repro info.
