Hello,
I have a problem regarding amarok 2.4.1 (using Arch linux):
When amarok is running and I plug in my mp3 player or any usb-stick, my whole system freezes. I can't do anything, besides reboot.
Now if I disable the plugins for "MTP devices" and "mass storage devices" in amarok the system does not hang, and since I don't need these plugins that's fine for me. But I would like to submit a bug report but I guess that's too less information. Can you tell me where I can find an amarok log to give you more details about the error? (I really don't want to start amarok again from the console and let it freeze my PC - even if this would bring new information).
bye

What you can do is first install the amarok-dbg package, and then run it from the console
Code: Select all
amarok --debug --nofork

Enable either MTP or mass storage, and then plug in the device, watching the output. Do you see anything interesting? Does the system still freeze?

If you can't get any good information this way, the only other thing I can suggest is to run Amarok in gdb, but running it in console should work.

I've been trying to recreate your situation, and cannot in Amarok fresh from git, in Kubuntu 11.04, KDE 4.6.3.
