I am using amarok Version 2.3.0 KDE 4.4.2! Sometimes back I unchecked the names option in the right click menu in the media sources and after that the files are not displayed in the file option! how to restore to the default settings?

Hmmm, I see no "names" option in the context menu. What happens when you click closer to Home in the breadcrumbs menu?

Initially I right clicked on the media sources under FILES option, there I unchecked the check box for Date and Size! By mistake I unchecked the check box for Names option also! Due to that the songs in a particular folder! When i right clicked after that, that pop up menu did not appear!

When i clicked closer to the home icon, the pop menu regarding the lock layout only is coming!

OK, I had a complicated fix, but a friend suggested an easy one. Click on Places, which is the small icon to the right of Home (the little house). At that point, you'll be able to right-click the gray area and re-check what you want displayed.

I tried that easy fix, But that doesn't seem to work. I tried that the right clicking on the right side of the HOME icon but nothing appeared!

Tell me the complicated fix!

I tested it two or three times -- making my view blank like your screen shot, and then clicking Places, and then right-clicking the gray area. Did you do both? At least two clicks are necessary.

Yes I did that But no POP UP screen is coming! Is there any way to restore the option to defaults in amarok?

What about the complicated fix?

Try this. In $HOME/.kde/share/config/amarokrc, find where this is -- if it's different, match yours to mine and save as. (can be .kde4 in some distros)
