I'm using Amarok 2.4.0 on KDE 4.6.0. It won't let me skip to another position within the track, as in when I click on the bar nothing happens. Does anyone know how to fix this? I know it used to work before I upgraded to Opensuse from 11.3 to 11.4. Thanks!

This is a problem with your Phonon backend. Please update Amarok and KDE (current versions are 2.4.1 and 4.6.4 respectively), which will also update Phonon and its backend, or switch to an alternative backend. GStreamer and VLC are the currently maintained backends.

Ok I went into the Phonon settings in Amarok and I switched the priority of the two options, it was Gstreamer then Xine, I switched the order and it works now. Are there any problems with doing it this way?

Xine is deprecated and not recommended for use. You'll also note that the sound quality isn't nearly as good as the other options. As I say, we recommend VLC or GStreamer.
