Hi,
Amarok V2.4.1 KDE 4.6.5 openSuSE 11.3 I aktivated the UPnP-Collection in Amarok, but afterwords i can't see the Media-Server. Where has he to appear? The UPnP-Inspector from Coherence shows the UPnP-Devices (Twonky-Media Server 192.168.178.23, NOXON Media-Renderer 192.168.178.20) but not the Amarok Media-Renderer 192.168.178.6. Any Ideas? UPnP servers should appear as a collection in the Local Music section. Make sure you check above and below the Local Collection, and make sure Merged View is disabled (button to the right of the search bar) (otherwise any files found there will just be merged into a single collection).
If it's definitely not there, check that KDE has the KIO UPnP (kio-upnp-ms) slave available (you can get a dropdown list of available slaves in Dolphin if you clear the address bar, then click the dropdown on "file" at the beginning of the bar). If it's not available, you'll need to install it (I don't know how to do this on OpenSUSE, so you'll have to search your package manager). Note that Amarok won't appear on a UPnP inspector because it's a client only, not a server. |

Thank you Sentynel for your advice. kio_upnp_ms.so wasn't installed on my machine.
It took me nearly two days to find out what and how to do. So i did the following, because there are no (rpm-)package yet available?? 1. compile and installation - libHUpnp.so V1.0.0, libQtSolutions_SOAP-2.7.so from herqq-1.0.0 (from http://sourceforge.net/projects/hupnp/files/hupnp/) - kio_upnp_ms.so V1.0.0 (from git clone git://anongit.kde.org/kio-upnp-ms). - For this to do i had to install a bunch of KDE4 and QT4.7 source files and development tools. 2.Testing a. Result: In Dolphin upnp-ms:// is available but no contents of the mediaserver are listed. Now In Dolphin i can choose the upnp-ms:// protocol To look for an uuid: of the Media-Server, i started Cagibid manually and put it in the address-bar: upnp-ms://7076436f-6e65-1063-8074-00189700ac90/ Resulting after some minutes with this msg. in Dolphin: "The process for the protokol upnp-ms://7076436f-6e65-1063-8074-00189700ac90/ was terminated unexpectedly" Cagibid gives constantly this output:
b. Result: In Amarok is no Media-Server Collection in "local Music Collections" amarok --debug:
I found org.kde.Cagibi.service in /usr/share/dbus-1/system-services/ and put a copy to /usr/share/dbus-1/services/ Now this error is gone, but i get this error:
The only possible error cause i don't know how/were to look for, is "The message bus security policy blocked the reply". I think the other three error causes i can deny. Can you help? Are there any other ideas? Regards rws |

Could you please tell me the version of Cagibi you are using?
There was a change in the Cagibi DBUS API between version 0.1.0 and 0.2.0 and Amarok hasn't been fixed for that yet (my bad). |
