As I understand it you will need the UPnP slave for KIO. This may be available in your repositories, and is hosted here: http://gitorious.org/kio-upnp-ms

Hi Sentynel, I am running openSUSE 11.4 and sadly I cannot find kio-upnp-ms on openSUSE repo. I checked out the link and it appears getting this to work is not straightforward and beyond my skills. Do you know where I can get more help please?

But you need an up-to-date KDE 4.7 from Distro:Factory repositories

Hi Dieter,
Many thanks for the information and repo information and the search results. I need to learn how/where to search as I tried before posting and found nothing. Anyhow I have installed the three components and upgraded Amarok to version 2.4.3 using KDE 4.7.1 and but still cannot see my upnp device. Any ideas?
Regards and thanks again,

Okay, first thing to do is to check the slave is installed correctly. If you open Dolphin, click in the address/path bar, and clear the path there, you should get a dropdown at the beginning of the bar for protocol. Find upnp-ms in there. If it's there, the slave is installed correctly and you should be able to put the UUID of the server into the address bar and browse it.
If this works, please report a bug in Amarok with all the details you can provide. If it doesn't, report a bug for upnp-ms instead. (I have a vague idea there might have been issues with upnp-ms and certain versions of the protocol, but I'm not sure.)
Source for this is upnp-ms' readme file here: https://gitorious.org/kio-upnp-ms/mainl ... ter/README

Hi and thanks for the guidance. I have upnp-ms in the drop down menu under "Other" so selected it but am not able then to browse upnp device. I get a bar bottom right with message Loading folder and a moving indicator but nothing comes up. Will try and post a bug report but not being a coder I am a bit out of my depth.
Thanks again.

herqq SVN Revision 55 (according to kio-upnp-ms README)

Loading bar in dolphin, server show up in Amarok, but both cannot browse it !
