I just started using Amarok and find it quite interesting. However, I apparently inadvertently undocked the playlist and media sources windows, and from the documentation I've read it appears that the redocking controls are missing from the undocked windows and I can't dock them again. Those controls if I understand what I read, are the little "x" and "o" buttons in the top right corner of the windows. As I said they appear to be missing now that the windows are undocked. I also cannot move the windows, so they are sitting mid-screen, blocking my view of the context window.

Right click on the toolbar (where your player controls are) and uncheck "Lock Layout".

Thanks. Unfortunately, I was aware of the Lock function and it does not seem to change the problem. When the Lock Layout box is checked, the undocked windows do not have the little "x" and "o" controls visible and they cannot be moved. With the Lock Layout box unchecked the situation is the same. I'm thinking I'll uninstall and reinstall just to get the windows docked, and not touch them. BTW I'm running Windows 7.

You'll need to remove Amarok's config files; the uninstaller isn't guaranteed to do that. It's something like kde/share/apps/amarok and kde/share/config/amarok*, but I don't know off the top of my head where exactly that folder lives on Windows - it'll be application data or something similar.
Someone reported this in the IRC channel the other day; please check on bugs.kde.org to see if this has already been reported, and report it if not. |
