Please run the collection scanner from the command line with amarokcollectionscanner -r /path/to/music.
This will print the XML output of the scan to the terminal. Hopefully with this you should be able to determine where the scan is failing (you can run it on subsets of your music collection if necessary to pin it down), and any special properties of the files on which it fails.

Thx Sentynel for your quick reply.

I have tried it...it seems to hang each time on another song / location. ???

I have made an external MySQL db in Amarok and am currently doing an incremental collection scan .. Its a huge collection (more the 120k songs) so it will take some time .....I will keep you posted.

Kind regards,

HI,

Something is strange here. I am using the collection scanner, and it seems that each time it finds another error file (each time a flac stream corrupted error, though).

The strange thing is ...it now finds a flac stream corrupted error on a mp3 file....??

Please help me..I am missing my music collection and Amarok

Kind regards,

How come you have streams in your collection? That seems rather awkward.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

I am rather lost

Could you please give the exact error message you get? You are talking about a flac stream error, but what is the exact wording?

Here's the error message: FLAC stream corrupted

To make it stranger....I rescanned the files which were 'corrupted' a few days ago (I copied them to another disc) and now they are ok.

But when I scan the collection I still get the FLAC stream corrupted..message.

Just to top it off...the file on which it hangs is an TXT file and the folder contains only mp3.

Please help me

Do you really need that txt file? Else I suggest you remove it. FWIW, I have quite a few text files in my collection, those are simply skipped.

Thx Mamarok, but I hardly think thats a solution, because the colection scanner hangs each time on something else. It now is a txt file, beore it was an mp3 and before that a pdf file. Each time however the error was: flac stream corrupted.

I am quite lost here on what to do.

Kind regards,
