First post, and it's because I am struggling. I may be being quite stupid, but I am trying to install a script on Amarok. It's a script I have locally, and which I have installed on previous versions of Amarok.

I am on Ubuntu 11.10, and this has come with a new version of Amarok (2.4.3). If I click on "Settings > Configure Amarok > Scripts > Manage Scripts" I can see lists of scripts which can be downloaded and installed, but no option for installing scripts I have on my machine. There used to be an option called "Install Script" here (as is written about on this page:

http://amarok.kde.org/en/Insider/Issue_16 ) ... but it seems to have disappeared from this version of Amarok.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks for your answer. no, I didn't ... I'm not sure how I would use the script console to run that which I have (it's a collection of files, mostly javascript files.)

A bit of background; I'm trying to install the remote control server to allow Amarok to be controlled from an Android 'phone. This script can be found by searching for "Android" in the scripts manager. However, there is an updated version of one of the files within this script (amarokfunc.js) which fixes some broken functionality. I have replaced the old version of the file with the new one, in the android-amarok-remote package, and need to install this as a package ... am I beating up the wrong tree?

There's nothing magick with scripts. Just unpack them into $HOME/.kde/share/apps/amarok/scripts and they will show up in amarok and start the server if activated.
But you are right, there is no easy and intuitive way to "install" local scripts.

Many thanks - that's the key to it!

I've put the unpacked collection of files, with the updated one, in the folder you mentioned, and Amarok has recognised the script and allowed me to activiate it.
