Hey,
from the OpenSuse Forum "Linux-Club" I've got the SOLUTION, it works on my System. I have made a downgrade from Version 5.5.23 to 5.5.16 for the following packages: bmysqlclient18 ibmysqld18 mysql-community-server mysql-community-server-client Bye, Frank

I stand corrected. Running 'mkdir -p /etc/mysql/conf.d/' solved the problem for me. Now Amarok starts fine and finds all of my music and podcasts and everything. |

Yep, that worked for me as well - at least the mysql-error on start disappeared. (openSUSE 12.1 64 bit, KDE 4.8.3) |

Did not work for me. Downgraded to 5.16 and everything OK. openSuse 12.1 KDE 4.8.3
