Hi There,

For some reason my Amarok crashes whenever I try to open its gui by clicking on the tray icon. In the console it says following before it terminates (When launched with --debug).

which basically doesn't mean anything to me.
What's going on here and how can I resolve this?

Thanks for assistance!

which distro and which versions of KDE and Amarok

did it ever not crash when clicking the icon? If so was there a recent upgrade to distro, KDE or Amarok?

First of all, what version of Amarok are you running? The current stable version is 2.4.3, and 2.5 beta is also available. If you're not using the latest, you should update; if you are, it would be good if you could test to see if the issue is still present in 2.5 beta.

Secondly, if the issue is present with an up-to-date version of Amarok, debug logs aren't much use for crashes. You need to get a crash trace. Dr Konqi, the KDE crash handler, should provide a crash trace, including instructions for ensuring its quality, on the developer information tab. This will usually involve installing debugging symbols.

And lastly: Crash reports should go to http://bugs.kde.org, not to the forum, see also what is written in the description of the Help section here: viewforum.php?f=129

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Please test with Amarok 2.5, it should be available any time now in your distribution.

Please make a bug report on http://bugs.kde.org

I was able to resolve this problem by deleting all amarok files in
the .kde hierarchy
