Hello!
Strange issue since an update to 2.5-beta1: the "saved playlists" sidepanel shows all playlists which live in "/home/user/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/playlists/" doubled. Additionally, the names are not shown, eg. I have 9 playlists with different names, instead 18 empty ones are shown. If I rename one, two get renamed. If I delete one of the two, both get deleted. The view is already set to "combined view" although I only have playlist files as I don't trust the long-time consistency of the Amarok DB (had massive issues in the past). Furthermore. When I wipe all of Amaroks configs and start with a default setup and the manually drag an drop my xspf-playlists in the player, files are missing, some hundred of them. If I open the same playlist with clementine, all files show up. This is a Gentoo Linux, KDE-4.7.3, Amarok-2.4.90, AMD64 system. Any advice is appreciated, thanks.

Did you try removing the amarok* config files from $HOME/.kde4/share/config/? There is usually a list of playlists inside amarokrc so thatmight be the cause.
As for the files not showing, are these files duplicates?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

No I left the files in $HOME/.kde4/share/config/. Removing them also means always reconfiguring the UI.
I scrolled through the amarorc but cannot find the mentioned playlists? Which subsection are you referring to? For the missing files, eg. my favorites list containing 1700 songs, after "fresh" amarok start 1300 are left, NO duplicates as I clear out those regularly. |

My bad, it contains the loaded playlists, not the saved ones, sorry for the confusion.
I guess your files are all on the same device? If yes, please make a bug report so we can fix this ASAP.

Ok, I would have done that already. But as it goes one bug per report, I was confused about what to report exactly The files are all on a ntfs data-partition.

I reported a bug on this:
https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=288076 EDIT: The lost files thing disappeared after I also wiped the files under $HOME/.kde4/share/config/... |

...I have this issue again. This time I not only wiped amarok config files, but all of kdes' files in /home/ due to a heavy window-freezing issue with Kopete and Amarok (thanks ). Again about 3090 songs are missing, if I just drag and drop a playlist into Amarok (after a full collection scan that is). Any advice on this? |
