tracks on NFS not visible

Thu Dec 08, 2011 2:02 pm
All,

I have a collection on a NFS mounted filesystem. The filesystem is mounted and accesable. However amarok reports 0 tracks but the #albums and #generes are correct.
The MySQL db tables do hold the correct track info. It is also possible to play playlists which holds tracsk on the mounted NFS file system.

The debug flag of amarok reports a lot of info but I think the following is pinpointing to the problem:

amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Found Solid::DeviceInterface::StorageAccess with udi = "/org/kde/fstab/schuurpc:/mp3"
amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Device name is = "schuurpc" and was made by "/mp3"
amarok: [MediaDeviceCache] Solid device is not accessible, will wait until it is to consider it added.

Anybody seen this before? Anybody any idea how to solve this.

I'm using opensuse 12.1; Amarok 2.4.3; KDE 4.7.2 Release 5

Thanks in advance,

Just a guess: who is the owner of the share? Apparently it says "made by /mp3" so you should check the permissions.

Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ...

Thanks Mamarok all input is welcome!!

The share is actually a mountpoint permissions are:

arjan@arjanpc:~> ls -ld /mp3
drwxr-xr-x 38 arjan users 976 Nov 4 12:04 /mp3
arjan@arjanpc:~>

The user who runs amarok is also "arjan" next to this if "arjan" goes into amarok and select a playlist (from the db) it will play the list!! The tracks in the playlist are ALL located below /mp3.

I already reported this behavior as a bug back in May but I did find a way around it for the time being (https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=273046)
However now with opensuse 12.1 I haven found a way around it. My family is really pushing me because every computer in the house uses this setup to listen to music.

If it does not get solved I have to look for another tool because I cannot copy all tracks from the server to each individual computer.

Thanks in advance,
