WavPack Correction Files

Sat Dec 17, 2011 4:50 pm
Amarok seems to not use the .wvc correction files for lossless playback, it just plays the .wv (this is the Hybrid + Correction file for lossless playback).

Is there an option I am missing?

Thanks for the great application, been using it since 1.4 series. :)

try switching the phonon backend used to vlc or gstreamer, note: the xine is deprecated

I had already set gstreamer awhile ago, I dropped xine when I found it it was deprecated. :)

I'll let you know if phonon-VLC works. :)

you may wish to try phonon-xine

http://www.wavpack.com/

WavPack is also making its way into Linux and MAC territory. Several Linux distributions (including Ubuntu) now support WavPack right out of the box (via GStreamer) and WavPack support has been added to the FFmpeg project and to xine-lib.

In addition, these programs now support Wavpack:
DeaDBeeF - Ultimate Music Player for GNU/Linux (native WavPack support)
Asunder - A graphical Audio CD ripper and encoder with CDDB tagging (native WavPack support)
Aqualung - A gapless music player that has an XML-based music DB (native WavPack support)
Audacious Media Player - A new player based on BMP (native WavPack support)
Traverso - an audio recording and editing tool with an innovative interface (native WavPack support)
Quod Libet - A GTK+-based audio player written in Python (using the GStreamer plugin)
LAMIP - Linux Audio Multiple Interface Player (using an official plugin)
XMMS - Established Linux Audio Player (plugin available here)
JavaTunes and Musique - Multiplatform Java-based Audio Players

Here's the questions I have, how do I check to make sure it is being played at the correct bitrate? If I click on file details, it shows the bitrate of the .WV file. Just making sure. :)

Thanks a lot for your help! :)
