Hello!
Is there way to search in user created ID3v2 tags? Why do I need this feature? I have a big music collection. My family members have similar preferences. Because of that we keep all our music in one place in this structure: .../Music/Artist/Album/. But, for example, there are songs that are liked by me, but not by others. I have thought about this and decided, that I can create an additional tag "owner" in all files which is contain list of people. Than, set filter to "owner:Roman" and listen appropriate music. But it seems, that Amarok doesn't support those tags (http://userbase.kde.org/Amarok/Manual/Organization/Collection/SearchInCollection). I've thought that I can create this kind of structure: .../Music/Roman/Artist/Album (.../Music/Common/Artist/Common etc.). But this structure is very complicated, it's hard to move all the time music through folders, and similar songs can be placed in a distant folders. I've saw "labels", but they stored in database. This is great for 1 PC, but we have different computers. Are there anothers methods to do this? [offtop]I'm very sorry for my poor English.[/offtop] |

How about one single database then?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

Thank you for the answer, but only I use GNU/Linux (openSUSE). I've installed Amarok for Windows, it's too big (0.4 GiB on HDD and 0.2 GiB in RAM). I know, why it's so big (because of all dependences) and that Amarok itself has normal size. So, they dislike this solution. |

I've understood that it's impossible now to use user created tags and decided to use tag "comment" for those purposes. But I want to automatize operation, so see my topic in development thread: viewtopic.php?f=115&t=98661.
