I had this problem a couple of years ago, and was able to Google a fix. Nowadays, no such luck. And I can't remember my own fix.
The issue is that any songs that i add to my playlist vanish. They drop off the head of the list as soon as another song plays. Example: I queued up Ringo 2012, then added the 4-CD Chimes of Freedom set, and the Doors' L.A. Woman. All songs are nicely visible. As soon as the second song on Ringo's album plays, EVERY song in the playlist vanished except song 4-12 on the last album! I have deleted the hidden Amarok folder in my home directory, hoping that a full rebuild of the home directory structure might fix it. No luck. Any ideas? I love everything about Amarok except this maddening issue. (edit: this is on openSuse 12, KDE4) |

What files exactly did you delete? Amarok's folder is ~/.kde4/share/apps/amarok, but config files are ~/.kde4/share/config/amarok*. You need to remove those too in order to reset all settings.
From your description, the best I can guess is that you have the dynamic playlist enabled and either the track progression set to some form of random or tracks in your collection which aren't accessible. Removing the config files should sort out your issue. |

Thanks, Sentynel!
I had tried deleting /home/rone/.kde4/share/apps/amarok/. I hadn't tried the three amarok files in /home/rone/.kde4/share/config. Plus, I saved my albumcovers folder, that will (I hope) repopulate hundreds of albums that I manually matched up. However, bigger issue: my playlist is back to normal. Thanks again! |
