Since some recent update, Amarok stopped showing OSD (on-screen display) when a song is ending. It was very useful: after listening the whole song, I could wuickly look at its title and remember what it was. Now, Amarok only shows OSD when a song starts. Is there a way to get the old behavior back?

I don't use Amarok regularly, so I'm not sure which version was the first where the OSD's behavior changed. Currently, I'm using Amarok 2.6.0 installed in Kubuntu.

The notifications coming up more than once was a side-effect of an EngineController bug with a number of unfortunate effects, not a deliberate feature (and it annoyed a lot of people). It could be added back as a deliberate feature if there was sufficient interest and developer motivation; file a wish-level bug on bugs.kde.org for it.
