Hello,

i use Amaroks last.fm support for displaying 'similar artists'.

But i wonder if and how i can display information about the current artist which is played.

Is this simply not possible? As Wikipedia gives most of the time wrong infos especially for not so well known artists i think last.fm would be a much more reliable source of that information.

Hi,
currently this is not possible, but it shouldn't be hard to create a new applet and data source for it. Best chance is if you try yourself, because Amarok Team is currently rather understaffed.

Unfortunately there's no template applet I know of, but please have a look at src/context/applets/ and src/context/engines/, http://community.kde.org/Amarok/Development is a rather outdated page about Amarok development in general, also be sure to please read documents in HACKING/ folder of the repository. Patches should go to http://reviewboard.kde.org/
