I've been running amarok on linux for years and have a fairly large (>100K tracks) collection. The music files and the MySQL database are both located on the same fileserver. I would like to be able to install amarok on a Windows machine but use the same database and collection. When I installed the Windows version it wanted to do a full rescan and I let it. The result seemed to be a partial trashing of the linux install - the tracks are there but greyed out.
Given that the linux version locates the files based on a folder mounted off the root (e.g. /mnt/musicserver/tunes...) and Windows goes by drives (T:/) is this the problem? Is there a better way of configuring amarok to use the same database on different OSs? TIA, Dave |

Hi currently Amarok doesn't support sharing the database on different os.
As you already pointed out Amarok is storing the file path and the file path will differ on Windows and Linux. |
