Restore ratings from backup

Mon Apr 21, 2014 12:59 am
I just did a fresh install of Kubuntu 14.04. I was hoping that simply copying over my backup of .kde/share/apps/amarok would bring back my rating data, but it didnt. I tried rescanning my collection several times and tried syncing the collection but nothing has worked. Have I lost all my metadata? :'(

Can you please check the output of "kde4-config --localprefix"?
Also, did you do the restoration of that directory before or after starting Amarok?

kde-config --localprefix output:
/home/zachleigh/.kde/

I restored it after starting Amarok...I forgot to do it before.

Has restoring your backup with Amarok fully closed (not in System Tray, etc) fixed the issue? If so, please make this topic as solved using the "Accept this answer" button.

Ahhh...it was still in the system tray. Closed it down entirely, restored the backup files and now it works fine. Thank you for your help!
