Hi,
The seek bar doesnt work at all on Amarok 2.8.0 on Kubuntu 14.04.1 |

Could you please be a tad more specific:
* Which phonon backend do you use? * What do you try to seek, a local track, a downloaded podcast or in a stream?
Running Kubuntu 22.10 with Plasma 5.26.3, Frameworks 5.100.0, Qt 5.15.6, kernel 5.19.0-23 on Ryzen 5 4600H, AMD Renoir, X11
FWIW: it's always useful to state the exact Plasma version (+ distribution) when asking questions, makes it easier to help ... |

In KDE settings>Multimedia>Backend it shows Gstreamer and the bar doesnt jump to a selected location on mp3 and mp4.
I havent tried to play online streams. Thanks. |

Very strange, it works without any problem here. I use current git version v2.8.0-353-ga643972, though, but we didn't change anything in the playback section that could cause this, at least nothing shows up in the ChangeLog that would.
Please check your installation, in particular: * did you change anything in the theme settings of KDE or do you use the default one? * what exact version of the phonon-backend-gstreamer do you use, and do you maybe lack some gstreamer plugins for the 1.x version?

You are right, somethings wrong with my install. I tried the USB boot I had made and ran Kubuntu from it, Amarok works fine there.
I shall investigate, thanks. |

Switching to VLC backend solved my problem. Previously I had Gstreamer 4.7.2.

Interesting, it works here with the gstreamer backend as well, same version.
