amarok won't show gui

Sat Jun 26, 2004 3:11 am
for some reason when i have xmms open and i open amarok it shows itself as a process, but i don't see the gui. then everytime i try to launch, even after rebooting etc, amarok will only show as a process. i have to then reinstall it and delete the ~/.kde/share/apps/amarok folder or it will just do it again.

What window manager / desktop environment are you using?

Please start amarok from the shell, and post the output you get.

I am having the same problem (entered it as a comment here: http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=83655 )
XMMS is not installed at all on this system.

Re:amarok won't show gui - FIXED

Sun Jun 27, 2004 11:44 pm
We've fixed the problem in CVS. The fix will also be in our upcoming 1.0.1 release.

Here's a workaround:

* rm ~/.kde/share/config/amarokrc
* start amaroK
* activate "Show Tray Icon" in amaroK settings
