New Crossfade Method... Use this!!!

Sun Sep 26, 2004 8:54 am
Hey Markey and other amarok developers, please, give one looks at in this crossfade method...

http://www.eisenlohr.org/xmms-crossfade/news.html.

This crossfade is to xmms, but is very interesting and efficient. The crossfade remove the gaps between two songs. And, with sequecial tracks (in live albuns, e.g.) the crossfade is automatically disabled, but the gap is removed .

The option is: "Don't crossfade -> successive tracks (This option enables the automatic detection of pre-fader or gapless tracks, like the tracks on some compilations or on most live albums. If such tracks are detected, crossfading will be disabled and only gapkiller (if enabled) will be used for the songchange."

And the license this crossfade is GPL...

This crossfade in amarok would become it, without a doubt, in the best one player and the more complete for Linux!

I also would like to be able to disable crossfade for consecutive tracks on the same album, except perhaps for the case where you are playing one track and skip to the next one.

Sorry, we can't use any of that projects code because we are engine independent.
