Congratulations to the developers on another great release!
I didn\'t know whether to call this a feature or a bug, so I decided to err on the side of caution... Using Amarok 1.2 Beta with Xine as the Playback Engine under KDE 3.3 on Mandrake 10.1, I am having difficulty getting Amarok to recognize the .m4a extension used by iTunes. Note: these are not DRMed songs purchased from the iTunes music store, they are files that I ripped from CD. If I change the extension to .mp4, Amarok will recognize and play the files, but it cannot read the meta tag information. I have verified that the .m4a extension is properly registered as a MIME type; clicking on a m4a file in Konqueror loads Amarok, but it just gives a \"Some URLS cannot be loaded error message\". I know that this is a question that has been asked before, but are developers planning on supporting loading of m4a or aac files (mp4s seem to load as is) and the meta-tag information accompanying these files? Is there something obvious that I have missed in getting this to work under Amarok. I am eagerly awaiting your reply. Thank you for taking the time to read this post. |

I\'d like to second this feature request. My collection is increasing in M4A files, and I would really love to be able to treat them like mp3s -- meta tag editing, playback, etc.
![]() This is the only thing for me holding amaroK back from being near-perfect. Thanks! |

Heh, don\'t say that seb. I\'m sure the bugs already exist. Regardless it appears to be a problem being worked on (allowing taglib to take plugins).
