Jack Support Feature Request

Thu Dec 02, 2004 8:31 am
Hi there,

I used to be a mad gnome fan, but have recently installed SuSE with KDE and I like amarok so far. The only thing that it\'s lacking (being very important for me) is that it doesn\'t have jack support (http://sf.net/projects/jackit). Jack is cool as it\'s realtime capable and means that amarok output can be routed to any available jack client. All of my Linux audio use is with Jack as I run a recording studio and therefore need the performance.

Any plans to support it?

Thanks,
Dan

hey dan...

right now, there are no such plans. but how knows, future brings feature. anyway, for now there\'s another solution:

a) use gstreamer with jacksink, to pipe your sound to jack
b) install the dmix plugin for alsa to use multiple programs accessing the sound device concurrently.

muesli
