track length not cached in database

Wed Jan 12, 2005 2:44 pm
Recently I\'ve been fiddling with the amarok collection (powered by mysql) and noticed that no tracks have their length cached in the database. Tracks for one album only had those cached, but after rescanning the collection it disappeared. Is it a bug or my doing sth wrong? :) (i am running the cvs version)

Length is part of the \"Audioproperties\". These are read and stored in the database when you add tracks from the Collection to your playlist. You will notice that the next time you add the same tracks, it\'s considerably faster. So it works like a cache.

Reason: We don\'t read the Audioproperties on the initial Collection scan because it is considerably slower than just reading the tags (perhaps 3 times slower or more).
