how to start amarok

Sat Mar 12, 2005 2:31 am
After reading a nice article on News Forge, i went through the installation basically [code:1]\"yum install kde qt arts kdelibs kdebase gtk+ gtk2 redhat-artwork\"[/code:1]
but I get no icon, nor any indication how to start it.... suggestions?

I think there\'s missing \'amarok\'.

If you\'re right it\'s installed, try the command [code:1]amarokapp[/code:1]

I suppose you\'re using Yellow Dog, is that right?

Annoyed with bbcode since 1999.

I have no experience with Yum, but I do think you\'re missing something. amaroK isn\'t included in the base KDE packages because the amaroK release schedule has been much faster than the KDE schedule.

You might check here:

http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/index.php/Download

For distribution specific rpm/instructions.
