I have a script that I want to switch to a certain song in my playlist (it\'s a stream, actually.) However, given my playlist\'s malleability, it\'s not always at the same index...is there a way to switch to a song based on its name rather than its position?
Failing that, is there a DCOP call to return the current length of the playlist? If there\'s no jump-to-name call, I can at least add the stream to the playlist and jump to the end. |

Well, this functionality is in the webcore script. Basically its calls saveCurrentPlaylist and then parses the XML file I believe.

I was afraid it would come down to that.
Could I request a DCOP call for the current number of items in the playlist? |

Well, for what your doing you should be able to just use \'playMedia\' (add an item to the end of the playlist and start playback). There\'s a fixed-in-CVS bug which might prevent you from using that with streams.

Oh, I see. I was trying playMedia and nothing seemed to happen.
