DCOP question

Sat Apr 09, 2005 3:09 am
I have a script that I want to switch to a certain song in my playlist (it\'s a stream, actually.) However, given my playlist\'s malleability, it\'s not always at the same index...is there a way to switch to a song based on its name rather than its position?

Failing that, is there a DCOP call to return the current length of the playlist? If there\'s no jump-to-name call, I can at least add the stream to the playlist and jump to the end.

Well, this functionality is in the webcore script. Basically its calls saveCurrentPlaylist and then parses the XML file I believe.

I was afraid it would come down to that.

Could I request a DCOP call for the current number of items in the playlist?

Well, for what your doing you should be able to just use \'playMedia\' (add an item to the end of the playlist and start playback). There\'s a fixed-in-CVS bug which might prevent you from using that with streams.

Oh, I see. I was trying playMedia and nothing seemed to happen.
