As there is still no save-and-read-lyrics-locally function in amaroK, I thought I\'d write myself a script that does this. Maybe it will help you, too:
http://tom-f.org/code/linux/amrklyr.tar.gz If you encounter any bugs or have ideas, let me know. B) You need php to run this script, because that url-encoded file name you get via dcop must be decrypted. (If the devs finally decide to provide an un-url-encoded dcop call, this would be great ![]() [edit]Php is no longer needed, thanks to the \"path\" dcop call ^^ [/edit] Post edited by: alanceil, at: 2005/07/26 02:17 |

The scripts needs a parameter that tells it what it should do -
[code:1] alanceil@lapmagi:0:~/jana2test/html/(codegz)/amrklyr> cat README *snip* - Create shortcuts (for example with KHotKeys) for these commands: amrklyr read (Reads lyrics) amrklyr save (Stores lyrics) amrklyr dele (Deletes lyrics) *snip* [/code:1] ![]() So, a \"amrklyr save\" command would open the editor for the current song, where you can paste the lyrics; \"amrklyr read\" does the same, for reading lyrics; \"amrklyr dele\" deletes lyrics. More questions? ![]() |

I understood the idea, but with this solution, locally amaroK doesn\'t save and load lyrics in the panel of it .. right ? We have to save and load (in an editor) manually lyrics at side of amaroK .. not really good to use ... better than nothing I know..

I would add it to the panel if I knew C enough
![]() Just didn\'t want to wait until this function is finally integrated in amaroK, so thats why there is amrklyr ![]() |

amaroK caches the lyrics now.
